Venice

Venice (Venezia), located in the Veneto region of north east Italy, is unique - a city built on a lagoon - with a population who travel by boat around their city - or walk - and whose Renaissance buildings, bridges and monuments have been immortalised by millions of photos, pictures and books. At its heart lies Piazza San Marco, beloved of tourists the world over, and the only 'piazza' in Venice as the rest are 'campi'.
