It was the hometown of two famous painters, Perugino (Pietro Vannucci) and Pinturicchio.It is also world-famous for chocolate: the local confectionery company Perugina invented the chocolate Baci with one hazelnut inside wrapped in a piece of paper with a tiny love sentence, which are exported widely. In Perugia there is a chocolate festival every year in October.
